Game: WARDOGS

WARDOGS server rules

These are the authoritative rules for Command Squad's WARDOGS servers. They apply alongside our network-wide standards and any rules BULKHEAD and Team17 set for the game itself.

Version 1.0, published September 8, 2026, in force from Early Access launch on September 10, 2026.

Rule 0 — Admin Discretion

Any behaviour deemed harmful to the health of the server or the community may result in administrative action, up to and including a permanent ban — including behaviour no rule below anticipated. This rule exists precisely because the game is new.

Rule 1 — Respect & Conduct

Hate speech, racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, or targeted harassment of any kind is strictly prohibited — on voice, in text, and in your name or clan tag.

  • Slurs or discriminatory language
  • Mocking accents or impersonations
  • Offensive player names, tags, or transmitted audio
  • Sexual harassment or persistent unwanted contact

Rule 2 — No Cheating or Exploits

Cheats, hacks, or deliberate exploit abuse result in a permanent ban.

  • Aimbots, wallhacks, radar, or any third-party gameplay advantage
  • Lag switching or deliberate connection manipulation
  • Knowingly repeating a bug that grants an unfair advantage — including map geometry, vehicle, building, or economy bugs

Rule 3 — No Ghosting or Cross-Team Intel

Sharing information with a team that is not yours is prohibited. With three teams on the field this matters more than in a two-sided game, not less.

  • Passing positions, strength, or intentions to another team by any channel
  • Stream sniping
  • Using an outside voice channel to coordinate with players on another team
  • Spectating or dying to gather information you then act on

Rule 4 — No Teaming or Collusion

A third faction creates a genuinely new opportunity for abuse: two teams quietly agreeing not to fight each other, or to focus the third. Deliberate collusion between teams that undermines fair play is prohibited.

  • Pre-arranged non-aggression or truces between teams
  • Coordinating with another team against a third by any out-of-game channel
  • Deliberately throwing an engagement to advantage a specific other team

Rule 5 — No Griefing or Team Sabotage

Any action that intentionally disrupts your own team's effort is prohibited.

  • Intentional teamkilling
  • Destroying, stealing, or wasting your team's assets to deny them to teammates
  • Blocking teammates, spawns, exits, or vehicles
  • Mic spam, soundboards, music, or text spam
  • Deliberately feeding kills or objectives to another team

Rule 6 — Assets & Team Resources

Vehicles and heavy equipment are first come, first served. What we ask is that you do not deliberately waste them.

  • Do not take a vehicle you have no intention of using for the team.
  • Do not repeatedly destroy your team's vehicles through obvious recklessness.
  • Do not hoard or hide team assets away from the fight.

Rule 7 — Building & Fortifications

Where the build system lets you help your team, use it for that. Do not use it against them.

  • No building to block teammates, spawns, or routes
  • No destroying useful friendly construction
  • No building purely to waste team resources

If the launch build's construction system turns out to work differently than expected, this rule gets rewritten to match it rather than stretched to fit.

Rule 8 — Communication & Teamwork

These are teamplay servers. That is the entire reason to play here instead of somewhere else.

  • Play the objective. Contesting the Control Zone is what wins matches.
  • Use comms if you can. A microphone is not mandatory, but listening and responding is expected.
  • English on team-wide channels, so everyone can follow a call.
  • Help new players. On day one that is everyone.

Rule 9 — Advertising, Tags & Impersonation

  • No unauthorised advertising or community recruitment on our servers
  • No impersonating Command Squad members or using [CMD]-style tags without membership
  • Unauthorised tag use may result in kicks until corrected

Reporting, evidence and appeals

  • Report players and appeal actions through the player support pathway. Tell us it was WARDOGS and which of our two servers you were on.
  • Include the time, the player's name as it appeared in game, and a clip if you have one. Reports with evidence get resolved faster and more fairly.
  • Admin decisions can be appealed. Arguing in-game during a match is not an appeal and usually makes things worse.
  • Command Squad membership, whitelist, and financial support never exempt anyone from these rules.

How these rules will change

This is version 1.0 of a ruleset for a game in its first days of Early Access. We expect to change it, and we would rather do that openly than quietly.

  • First 72 hours: admins log every judgment call not clearly covered here.
  • Day 3: first structured review. We change something only if it came up repeatedly or mattered a lot.
  • Day 7: v1.1 published if needed, with a short change log so you can see what moved and why.
  • Monthly after that: routine review, resisting rule bloat.

Substantive changes are announced in Intel and in Discord (external link), not just edited into this page.
